Re: Possible wrong install?

Go to solution

Hi

Yes I am connected to an ont box on the wall which was installed by city fibre 2 years ago.

I am on the 500/500 profile with zen which will end on the 20th.

I will then join bt on the 23rd.

I thought because I signed upto fibre essentials I would get a fttc install

But because I have a fttp connection,  bt essentials will use this to give me the 40/10 speeds I signed up for?

OK, so now it's clear.

Presumably when you signed up for FTP with Zen, City Fibre were  the only provider. Since then Openreach have also installed FTTP. BT only use the Openreach network, they can't use your existing connection. That's why you've been given a date for a fresh install of an Openreach FTTP connection.

But with the 40/10 speeds I've been quoted?

@Mark_1976

FTTP can support any speed, up to the maximum. You will get what is quoted on your order.
