Now tv boost

Has there been a change to the boost offered by BT as I am now only getting HDOptions instead of UHD when viewing through my Apple TV

Re: Now tv boost

The Apple TV box with EETV  is not available to those of us who subscribe with BT broadband. Are you talking about your own personal Apple TV box?

Edit:  I do think that something might have changed in the last 24 hours though,  as the NOW Ultra Boost option notice no longer appears within the EPG of the NOW app on our Pro tv box with an EETV subscription via BT broadband. Perhaps @Midnight_Voice could shed some light on what might be going on here.

Re: Now tv boost

@sstixe Ok, that’s interesting. It’s believed that Ultra Boost will only be available to EETV subscribers who have EE broadband and not those of us with BT broadband. It appears that you’re being filtered out here with a direct NOW sub. on BT broadband if I’m making the correct assumption.

Re: Now tv boost

@sstixe @Brucemeister5

Not sure I know much more than @Brucemeister5 does 😢 And I’m looking at Now on a Box Mini, and it seems unchanged. I’m still getting the ‘Upgrade to UHD’ banner on the TV Guide (but not on the individual memberships), on the Now app on this TV, and when I select it, it says ‘To upgrade your experience, please go to your BT device’ 9.11.6(2.0.8) Where nothing new appears, either in the Box Mini Settings, or in the Now app on it, likewise 9,11.6, but nothing in brackets.

And I am on EE broadband.

So, AIUI: -

If you have a Now subscription from EETV, you can’t have UltraBoost on any device you log on to, even devices, like your own Apple TV, that support UltraBoost.

If you have a direct Now subscription, you should be able to use UltraBoost on your Apple TV,  it you still won’t be able to use it on any EETV devices, because they don’t yet support it. (Not sure about the separate Now app on the EETV Apple TV - that might let you, I don’t know).

One explanation for having UHD yesterday, and not today, is that your direct Now subscription has turned into, or been replaced by, an EETV Now subscription.

So the first thing you should do is check your Now subscription, and make sure it’s still direct, and with UltraBoost showing.

If it isn’t, that’s the answer, though we, or EETV, have to figure out how it got changed; maybe by you trying to use it in the EETV app? Shouldn’t happen, but maybe it did.

Next things to check are that you aren’t accidentally trying to use the Now app inside the EETV app, even with your direct subscription, and that the programme you are looking at today (ideally the one that worked yesterday in UHD) is indeed being supplied by Now in UHD.

And report back!

Re: Now tv boost

Thanks @Midnight_Voice . It’s interesting that you’re still getting the upgrade to UHD banner on EE broadband and I’m no longer getting it on BT broadband.

Re: Now tv boost

@sstixe IIRC it was around the end of July last year. I believe that our friend @naylor2006 took out a direct sub. with NOW at the time to take advantage of the increased  PQ and his preferred device is Apple TV, like yourself.
