Everytime we come to use our tv box from standby we have problems with actually getting the box to come on, the power button just flashes constantly - even after waiting over five minutes for the flashing to stop, it still flashes. The only thing that seems to work is to unplug the box from the mains wait a minute and plug back in to reboot the box, even that is now not working. When it was working it constantly failed to record and if it did record it then somehow lost them.
What else can do, if anything, it is driving us nuts.
What box do you have ? (see EE TV boxes | Compare the different boxes we offer | BT Help)
Losing recordings could suggest bad sectors on the hard drive, failure to boot could mean that the boot sector (of the hard drive) has failed
PS. The reason I ask is because I'm not aware of any problems with the hard drive of the Pro box
Seems like you should request a replacement from BT, unless of course you bought it rather than had it supplied as part of a TV contract.
It’s not an EE box it is a BT pro recordable if that helps.
I actually messaged BT earlier as the box is just flashing now, he checked everything and thinks it is a fault with the box so has arranged for an engineer to come out on Monday.

That seems a bit odd, they don't normally send an engineer out for a faulty box, they just send a replacement for self install. (???????????)
