Digital Voice phone unplugged

Hi everyone

I am already migrated to Digital Voice but as I have decided I no longer need the phone I have unplugged it from the back of my router.

My question is:   Can I do this without causing issues ?

Since the phone has been removed my router has started intermittently emitting a very high pitched whistle.

Do you think this is related or just a very strange concidence.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Re: Digital Voice phone unplugged

Hi @wrightp2 welcome back to the community and thanks for posting, removing the phone shouldn't cause any problems. I also have digital voice and don't have a phone connected.

The noise coming from the router is a strange one, it is normal for them to make a clicking noise occasionally but not the high-pitched squeal you've described.

I'd recommend reporting a fault to the technical help team and ask for a replacement hub. Post back and let me know how you get on.

Thanks

Neil

Re: Digital Voice phone unplugged

Hi NeilO

Thankyou for your reply.

I am in the process of migrating from BT Fibre with Halo 2 to EE Full Fibre. Not sure what new kit (if any) will be supplied so will see what happens.

I didn't think removing the phone would have caused any problems.
