Problem with Digital Voice Adapter

I have a DECT phone system that will not work properly using the Digital Voice Adapter but will work if plugged straight into the SH2 itself.

Basically if plugged into the adapter the dial tone is there ok. If I then try to make a call you hear the numbers being dialled and then instead of connecting it just reverts back to the dial tone. I’ve tried using a micro filter but still the same issue.

Plugging the DECT base station directly into the SH2 is fine and all works as it should but I have to run a cable between rooms which is a bit inconvenient.

Any ideas why this is happening?

Re: Problem with Digital Voice Adapter

is it possible the adapter is to far from the SH2 and not getting good enough connection so have you tried moving adapter nearer SH2 and then see of the DECT base station will connect and allow phone calls.

can you not just connect dect base to the the SH2 directly and use the cordless phone is other rooms so no need for adapter

Re: Problem with Digital Voice Adapter

They are not far away at the moment - it’s just on the other side of a wall. The base station seems to have connected as there’s a dial tone. It just doesn’t connect a call.

Yes I could put the base station next to the SH2 but that would mean the phone off the base station and not charging for most of the day which seems daft.

Re: Problem with Digital Voice Adapter

Its not actually daft at all. Batteries shouldn't be continually charged, they last much longer if cycled through being discharged and charged. Charge overnight.

Re: Problem with Digital Voice Adapter

OK fair enough. However to move the base station I also have to move the TrueCall unit beside the base station. Yes I have tried with the base station plugged into the adapter instead of the TrueCall unit and same issue.

However the adapter is meant to give me the option of keeping both units where they are but obviously it's not working for whatever reason. Has anyone got any idea why?

Probably just simply gone faulty. Give customer services a call and request a replacement. 0330 1234 150

It's brand new and has never worked.
