Smart Hub 2, 2.4 GHZ

I have bought a coupe of "smart plugs" in getting them home, they are saying they will only connect to 2.4ghz Wifi, understand you can't split the SSID on the Smart Hub 2, is there a way of connecting specifically to 2.4 as opposed to the 5ghz?

Any help much appreciated.

Hi @dholbr10   Most quality smart plugs will connect straight away. However if you have problems, simply disable the 5GHz band, pair the plugs and then enable the 5GHz band again.

Re: Smart Hub 2, 2.4 GHZ

If the plugs are only 2.4Ghz they can only connect at 2.4Ghz.

There can be a problem if you are trying to set them up using an app on a phone in ad hoc mode. The phone will be trying to talk to the plugs at 5Ghz which they won't see.

If that is the case, simply turn off the 5Ghz WiFi on the hub forcing the phone to use 2.4Ghz until the set up is complete. You can then restore the 5Ghz signal.
