The fibre cable from the road to my house has been installed just under the surface of my lawn and I now have to try and get it moved, as my garden is being landscaped soon. Who do I contact to move the cable ? I believe that Openreach say that it has been done through the service provider and that I can not go to them directly! I can't work out who I should contact.
Not sure if this is the correct board that I should be on to ask my question!🤔

Re: Underground broadband fibre cable from street to house
You would need to contact BT Customer Service 0330.1234.150 and make a request through them who will then contact Openreach to do the work.
There will most likely be a fee for the work to be carried out.

Re: Underground broadband fibre cable from street to house
I dare say landscapers come across this situation all the time , I’ve had work done that exposed both the Openreach service ( that was in a duct ) and the Virgin service that wasn’t in a duct , neither suffered any damage from the landscaping work , it’s not normally an issue, they just take care around these services .
if you are prepared to pay for the cable to be replaced, and moved into a different location, does a suitable location exist , if the entire area in front of the property were being landscaped then where can a cable be located away from the work , obviously this may not be the case here , if the landscaping isn’t affecting the entire front of the property, but you would need to identify/ decide on an alternative route that’s practical so that the replacement cable is not affected by the work
