Cancelling my BT account

Can someone please tell me how I cancel my BT account through the BT site? I guessed it wouldn't have been easy but I cannot find a single page that allows me to do it.

That would be too easy, as you wouldn't have to speak to their customer retentions people first. You have to phone them up.

ah I thought as much, but surely the ombudsman makes sure this can be done online without being mithered to stay with them?
