I have recently renewed my broadband contract with BT and been transferred to Digital Voice. We have fibre to a box in the road outside and copper to the house.
We have a poor indoor mobile signal and my concern is maintaining a connection during power failure via the broadband connection. I have a medical history and condition that has allowed me to receive a BBU . The BBU I have installed and it seems to be running OK.
The BBU is reported to power the Smarthub 2 for about an hour. I have a BT Duet 210 v2 which does not require power and BT have provided an Essential Digital Home Phone.
My concern is if power is lost at night or when are out then BBU will possibly be used up before we realise it has happened. Is an option to keep the BBU on charge but not connected to hub. In the event of a power failure it could be connected to router to make the call. Is this a feasible option?
I would be grateful for any advice anyone could give.
Thanks
That should be fine, but it should only need occasional charging. I'd suggest a bit of experimentation.
