New Home Smart Hub 3

I have two questions o urgency to either

1. Has BT starting selling their update Home Hub yet?

2. How would you pair your BT Digital Voice to the new hub without loosing your directory?

Many Thanks

Re: New Home Smart Hub 3

To answer question 2.

First, export your contacts from you current router. Go to 192.168.1.254 (bthomehub.home) and select Phone (you will need the admin password). Click on Contacts tab and then Export to create a backup.

On the new hub, go to the same place and click on Import giving the created file.

Re: New Home Smart Hub 3

@West  The new domestic Smart hub 3 is it seems now readily available for purchase on the famous auction site. Quite where these sellers are sourcing them from, is anyone’s guess.

To be honest, it’s cheaper to buy a brand new EE WiFi 7 router off the same auction site for almost a third less of the cost of a Smart Hub 3. AFAIK from this forum, the EE routers are compatible on BT contracts but happy to be corrected.

Re: New Home Smart Hub 3

Looking at the famous auction site offers, you do need to be careful about the variants on offer.
Some SH3 versions have only a WAN broadband input suitable for full Fibre to the Premises service only, and lack the RJ11 "telephone line" broadband input socket needed for Fibre to the Cabinet broadband service.
Some versions do not have the green DV phone socket.

Re: New Home Smart Hub 3

In case you are not aware you can say eBay auction site on this forum so I have no idea why it gets referred to as "the famous auction site."

What you can not do it post links to items that are for sale on eBay or any other e-commerce site such as Amazon.

Re: New Home Smart Hub 3

I'd be careful not to confuse the Home SH3 with the Business Smart Hub 3.  The business version is not DV capable.

Re: New Home Smart Hub 3

@WSH  To be fair, I did refer to the domestic hub. Unfortunately, there are still people out there who post on here thinking this is the business forum, so they're the sort of folks who probably wouldn't be able to discern the difference.

Re: New Home Smart Hub 3

But there do seem to be 2 types of domestic SH3 - one with a FTTC line socket as well as a WAN socket for FTTP, the other with only the WAN socket.
