I would like to know how the next door neighbours are able to see my television screen when I'm playing on my ps4.
I know they are doing this for a fact because even on a very low volume I can hear them making funny sounds at me using their ring door bell mic whenever i score a goal in fifa and whenever i concede a goal he swears at me using the "w" word.
when the game finishes he shouts the w word using his ring door bell mic. I can hear him very clearly from my room
They are mirroring my screen somehow they are also able to see what I'm watching on bt tv
The indian man next door has even shouted at the wall " my name I can see everything your doing"
these two brothers have somehow hacked my devices and can see what im doing.
I can understand people can hack the wifi but I'm using an ethernet cable how are they able to hack my network and see whats on my tv screen. They are not on the same network and I'm pretty sure what they are doing is illegal
Make sure you have disabled mirroring or casting on your TV.
There’s a lot of info freely available on the web about how to secure your home network, just work through your set up methodically. Change passwords, use a higher WPA protocol if your router and devices support it.
you obviously have a common wall with neighbour so are you using powerline adapter and is it connected to socket on common wall? There have been similar post on forum and the cause was powerline adapter
Are you using power line adaptors?
If you are make sure you have them password protected. If your houses are joined on, the electrical cables for each house can run close to each other and the signal can be picked up in either house.
This would allow them to get onto your network if the powerlines are not password protected without entering any passwords which is only needed if you are trying to get onto your network using wifi
Edit: post crossed with @imjolly
Thanks for the quick response
Yes we do have a power line adapter
My question is this if they are able to get into our WiFi through the power line adapter
How were they able to screen mirror my devices without me even knowing?
They must have been doing this for a very long time
by connecting to your wifi they then have access to your home network and the devices connected to your home network.
as @gg30340 you need to password protect your powerline adapter to stop the access
We have 2 powerline adapters one which boosts the wifi
The second one is a powerline adapter which is connected to the ring door bell
does the second one also have to be password protected is that even possible?
They should all be password protected. If you check the Powerline istructions it should tell you how to do that.
Once secured your neighbours will need the password to be able to piggy back onto your network so make sure you use a good password.
even if they somehow manage to get on my wifi how can they screen mirror my mac
if screen sharing is turned off on the mac
and how can they screen mirror whats playing on my TV?
change the wifi name and password on the router aswell as protecting both powerline adapter with password sounds to me as if they are inside your network with there own device and this is mirroring your tv
