BT 888 Walk me Home service for women and young girls

Go to solution

Does anyone know if this proposal got off the ground and is operational yet, or has it been scrapped?

If it has, what happened to the £50 million pound funds set aside to launch it?

Has any of it gone toward women's safety, refuge's or making the UK a safer place for them?

If not, why not?

Thank you for any information relating to my questions!

To your points…
1.Scrapped , a few years ago , this is hardly ‘news’ .
2.£50 million was never set aside , it was a very rough estimate of the costs to develop and launch an app, that was later adjudged to be somewhat irrelevant, the response to the original proposal was not positive.
3.Not as far as anyone on here could possibly know, probably not .
4. It wasn’t a Government grant , would have been BT’s money used  , TBH , what they do with their own money has nothing to do with anyone but their  shareholders , it’s not like this was public money.
