Who’s who in the BT community

Ever wondered who’s helping you sort your broadband or giving you the best advice on new tech? Here’s our rundown of who’s who in the BT community.

The Community Leaders

The Community Leaders are users who don’t work for BT but have loads of amazing knowledge and spend their spare time sharing their expertise, advice and experience.

Community Management Team

It’s up to us to make the BT Community the best place to find answers, ask questions, and chat about all things BT. We work closely with our Community Leaders, listening to their feedback on what our customers would like to read, learn and do more of in the community. And we keep the community platform in good working order.  We are:

Community Support Team

The Community Support Team keep a watchful eye on the community, stepping in when Community Leaders and others need a helping hand to find the right official information from BT. If a situation means BT needs personal details from you, they’ll connect you to a private place to get support from our Customer Care Team. 

They also make sure everyone is following community rules and guidelines.

They are:

  • Leanne_T I've worked for the company since 2005.  Outside of work I love to socialise and try new places, especially if this involves food. Home is where my heart is (well my cat) she 100% rules my house and is very vocal when something is not what she wants. I am a total reality TV addict, and horror movies are my favourite. However, I much prefer a book and some chill time on a night-time, any recommendations let me know.
  • Christopher_G  - I've worked for the company since 2007. I’ve worked on the Small Business team, then as a content writer for Small Businesses and later for Consumer. I spent just over a year on the Social Media team and when the opportunity came up to work on the Community, I jumped at the chance. I’ve got two young children, both boys, who share my passion for gaming. My games of choice are usually Call of Duty and FIFA, but I get roped into a spot of Minecraft and Super Mario with the kids too. I love documentaries and Podcasts, mainly Crime, Mystery, and History genres.
  • Katie_B I've worked in a number of departments and I have been with the business for 8 years. During my spare time I have worked in customer service for both mobile and home broadband. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my little boy and little girl. I absolutely make the most of Fridays at work and if anyone is ever fancying a take-out lunch it's guaranteed that I am already onto it.
  • Peter_W  - I started here in 2016, starting out in technical support before moving over to the social media team in 2018. I’ve done a bit of work alongside the Community team over the years too, so it’s fantastic to have the opportunity to join the team and help! Outside of work I can usually be found travelling to as many theme parks as my bank balance allows, playing tabletop games with friends, or doing a bit of gaming online; Final Fantasy XIV being a particular weakness.
  • Linzi_H - I joined the company back in 2006 and have worked in various roles and departments. In 2019 I moved into the digital world and have been fortunate to become a member of the Community most recently. I’m really excited to see what this next chapter brings! Outside of work, you can catch me socialising over a bit of brunch, watching a movie, and spending time with my family. I have an amazing pooch called Lucky, and he tags along to our fun-filled days too.
  • Chris__S - I originally started out in 2007, where I worked in our Upgrades and Retentions team, before moving into our social media department, then finally getting the opportunity to work in the Community. I’ve covered a lot of roles such as team leader and a sales coach. I’ve been a brand ambassador for Apple, gaining the title of Apple master, so Apple issues and products are my speciality. Outside of work, I have a passion for football, both playing football and, I’m a big Newcastle United fan. I love food, Pizza being my favourite.
  • Michael_D  - I’ve worked for the company since the Orange days, starting back in 2003. I've worked in quite a few departments starting in billing, handset faults, small business, back office content, then social media for the past 8 years. Outside of work, a lot of time is spent with my wife and son. I'm a keen follower of Newcastle United, Toronto Blue Jays and Toronto Maple Leafs (and football, baseball and ice hockey in general), and I’m always in a happy place with a bit of music on
  • Alex_H I have worked here since 2016, starting off on mobile billing, before moving to technical support on live chat and then social media support. Outside of work I can be found visiting the cinema, at home listening to some records, Bob Dylan being my favourite and at the weekends watching Newcastle United (hopefully) win. Also did History when at University and still enjoy getting stuck into a big history book when I have the free time. 
  • Rach_H - I joined the company as part of the billing team in 2015, before moving to the broadband billing team, and then to our Social Media team in 2016. I’ve been part of the Social Media team since then, and I am excited to get make the move to the Community. Outside of work I volunteer in Scouting, and love to and travel. In 2018 I spent 4 months in South America, and would love to spend some time in South East Asia. When I have an evening off I love to settle down with my dog and a good book, mainly fantasy or romance.
  • Ali_A - I've worked for the company for over 10 years in various departments, including Technical Level 1 and 2, and experienced all the changes through to EE, BT and now New EE. Over the past 8 years I've been in the digital side in various roles and specialist project trial teams, as well as Social Media. Joining the Community is the next natural step. Outside of work I enjoy hiking and love to travel as often as possible 
  • Debbie_G - I joined the company in 2007, starting out in mobile billing, technical, digital chat and social media. I’m excited to be joining the Community team. Outside of work, I love spending time with my family, I have 3 teenagers who keep me on my toes. I enjoy travelling at any opportunity and I’m obsessed with Christmas 
  • Lesley_W - My journey started back in 2010 in our retail stores, working in different areas during my time here. Outside of work, I'm always busy as I never say no to a holiday or a trip to the pub. When I'm home, I'm on the Xbox with my 9 year old son. At weekends, I like to go camping or on a city break sightseeing.

 

The Subject Matter Experts

Subject Matter Experts are BT employees who dedicate some of their time to sharing information and supporting the community. They might ask you for more details if they think they can help, but it’s worth remembering that they do this in their own time so might not be around all the time to help. But not to worry, the moderators are always around and available to help.

The BT TV expert

The BT TV Experts help out with all things BT TV including some broadband issues.

The BT devices expert

The BT Devices Experts cover anything to do with BT devices such as Complete Wi-fi, BT Home Hubs or Whole Home Wi-fi.

The BT Sport expert

The BT Sport Experts help out with all things Sport related including the BT Sport app
