Hi Collective
i have recently been migrated to digital voice. I have the 700 minutes inclusive package.
i now also have the new digital advanced phones which means my previous answering machine is no longer in use. Does anyone know if BT 1571 is included for free or is there an extra charge to use that service ?
My thanks in advance
cheers
Bernie

Hi @Bernie533 It is free. A very clear green message waiting light appears on all my HD phones with Alexa.
1571 along with a few other benefits are included free of charge with Digital Voice, you can see the list of included features Here including how to use them.
I believe 1571 voicemail is charged (and has different features) but if you have Call Protect with Voicemail then it's free.

No, If you have Digital Voice it's free, any of the other 2 voice services (PSTN or FVA) is chargeable at £3.69 per month as a montly addon.
I've just installed the new advanced digital phone (with Alexa). I dialled 1571 and a message told me I did not have this service. I can't find anywhere on the BT website where I can sign up for it.

Hi @lionelbeck
Go to Your Products, Digital Voice and hit Manage on Voicemail Essentials on the website or the My BT App.
Note, the voicemail key on the phone will glow green if a message is waiting.
The service is advertised as free but what they don't tell you is that if you dial 1571 to retrieve any messages you are charged 35p.
