2 telephone extension sockets

Go to solution

If my incoming line connects to a extension Telephone socket (not a master socket) terminals 2 and 5. And then I connect that socket to another extension, why can’t I get a dial tone/internet connection in the second socket?

Is the wiring connecting the two sockets new or was it already in situ?

If it’s the latter it could be that it’s faulty?

I assume you are connecting the wiring up the same at each socket, i.e. if it’s a standard colour code you’re connecting Pair One, which is Blue to 2 and White/Blue to 5.

Also what are you using to connect the wiring, is it a Krone Tool or are you just using something like a flat head screwdriver?

So my incoming line terminates on a extension socket (small square one, not a master socket), terminals 2 and 5. I then run a wire from those 2 terminals onto ANOTHER extension socket and terminate on terminals 2 and 5 (small square one, not a master socket). The terminals have screws so I have to screwdriver them in when terminating the wires on 2 and 5.

Can you post pics of the connections on both sockets.

If you have a  voltmeter check you have 50V across the terminals
