Allowable locations of full fibre modem - garage ?

We are fortunate to be able to move to a full fibre connection, installation is booked and am now thinking ‘how is the fibre cable going to get from the outside wall adjacent our front door to a suitable modem location in the hall?’ All walls are solid plastered, no power outlets (required for the modem) on wall near door, and surface fixing the cable is a look I don’t want. We have a built in garage that rarely gets to single figure temperatures inside, installing the modem there would be a doddle if allowed ... but is it ? Once in, can use ‘Powerlines’ to create an Ethernet network as is on same electrical circuit as the house. Does any one have any experience of this ? Thanks.

Providing it's easily accessed the instaall engineer will fit it in the garage. They usually discuss placement of the ONT with you.

Thank you Pippin.

I'm now optimistic that the install will be straightforward. Better go and plan where to put the modem ...

You are busy on the forum, what is your experience ?

Thanks,

Paul.
