I suppose this is a common problem.can anyone help with an idiots guide of what I need to do.

Re: Archer a7 router installation
What sort of broadband do you have? If you have the Home Hub3 do you have a separate Openreach modem or is the hub connected directly to the line?

Re: Archer a7 router installation
If you have connected the Archer to a modem (it won't work without one as it is just a router), have you configured the PPPoE login details correctly?
Username is bthomehub@btbroadband.com and password is BT

Re: Archer a7 router installation
Hi .
I am in a new build and have just the one lead coming out of a large
wall cabinet to the home hub.
I was hoping the new router would be installed the same way.
I don't know about the login details.
And thanks for taking the time to reply

Re: Archer a7 router installation
Ok, so its not a Hub3 as they are very old. Is it SH2 hub with a red WAN port connected to a Fibre ONT?
If so, just configure the Archer with the PPPoE details as previously posted.
Post a picture of what is in the wall cabinet.

Re: Archer a7 router installation
Ok, factory reset the Archer to get a clean start. Then just run the auto setup wizard and enter the PPPoE login details as previously posted when prompted to do so.
I assume the BT hub works OK and it is just the Archer that you are having problems with.

Re: Archer a7 router installation
No need for picture, you have confirmed you have FTTP. Just follow what I posted last.
