I previously was using a bt hub 6 for a period however that recently broke and we were unable to get a replacement without having to pay £130. Instead we had a spare bt hub 5 laying around and plugged that in. However we are having the issue that it will not comnec to the internet. On the my services part of the 192.168.1.254 site it will not connect no matter what we do. I press connect and it will instead prompt me to a help menu which gets me nowhere at all. Was wondering if anyone possibly knows how to sort this out
Have you tried a factory reset of the hub by pressing the recessed button on back and holding until lights flash about 20/30 secs. What colour is the hub light
do you have FTTC OR FTTP?

Why would you need to pay £130? If you are in a contract, then BT would replace it for free, or on renewal of contract.
The other option would have been a third party router costing about £35-40.
The fact that the HH5 is not working either, seems to indicate that the HH6 was not the problem.
