Re: BT Smart Hub - managing wifi

The beauty of the white discs is you can connect them to any router unlike the black ones which must use the BT smart router.

Re: BT Smart Hub - managing wifi

The only difference I see with whole home Wi-Fi is that

1. it works with any router

2. the premium whole home is tri-band

I don’t think I need it.

I think the complete Wi-Fi setup gives me pretty much what I need.

we only get 43Mbit down 11Mbit up anyway so there’s not much point in a custom router other than for processing power, which the Smart Hub 2 seems to handle.

The backhaul can cope with a max of 6 discs at once which is probably enough to cover a mansion in terms of square feet coverage.

thank you in any case

Re: BT Smart Hub - managing wifi

i'm still having issues connecting to the bloody thing from my phone 😞 I'm connected to wifi ok, I can log to my BT fine, browse internet, watch vids etc. Just when I go into 'your wifi network' I get setup screen that does  nothing and  is unable to connect to network 😕

Only remedy is to reboot phone which is quite annoying.

Did not had this issue before moving to full fibre. Tried forgetting this network and saving it again with same result. Hub rebooted several times and nothing.

Phone is note 9 on android 10, app version 8.20.1
