I have recently upgraded my TV package from Entertainment Extra with the BT Sport pack to the new Big Sport package with Now TV.
I had an email that listed the services that have stopped post-upgrade which include "Free BT TV App Extra".
As I understand it this allows me to watch the BT TV App on 4 devices which include my Amazon Fire TV box & stick.
Although it says the service has stopped I still have access to the BT TV App through my Amazon devices. Is this an oversight on BT's part which could mean that it could cease at any time, or has this facility been incorporated into the new package?
If I try online to add BT TV App Extra there is a page which talks about it, but the link to get BT TV App Extra only takes me to the BT Shop where I can buy more physical devices.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Will I be able to continue to use the BT TV and BT Sport apps on my Amazon devices?
Can anyone shed any light on this for me?
BT App Extra is 4 devices - without BT App Extra you still get 2 device slots to regster - https://www.player.bt.com/#/settings/managedevices
You can then register either 2 or 4 devices to use BTTV app.
You can have more devices than that setup for BTSPORT app but only 2 can use it at once. These don't have to be registed as they just login.
Does that explain it?

Yes that helps, as it's re-assuring I can still use the Amazon devices, however it doesn't tell me why I still seem to have more than 2 devices registered. I guess I will wait and see what happens and hope I can add it back in if the facility disappears.
BT TV App Extra is required to watch BT TV content on Amazon Fire TV / Stick, but it's not required for Now TV.
With subscription content coming from the Now TV app, the BT TV App Extra subscription is only required to watch AMC or any BT TV purchases on large screen devices. For BT Sport, there's the BT Sport app on Amazon Fire.
You've mentioned that the order says you're losing "Free BT TV App Extra", but the BT TV App Extra subscription comes in many different guises so it's possible that you now have a different variant of it as part of your new subscription.
So it's not very clear is it?
The only BT TV Content I'm bothered about is BT Sport channels and Eurosport channels (part of Big Sport) but I want to be sure I can access these on the Amazon devices.
I will also want to use the Now TV app access to the Sky Sports channels via the Now app, but assume that I can do that on whatever device the Now App is available on?
I will be going for BT Sports only - Eurosport app can be haggled for £19.99pa which gives you various 'extra' streams too.
