I cannot get my BT TV App for Android to work. I cannot watch any programmes on it. All I get is the message to turn on my Box and watch the programme on it. I am old and not at all techie. Any help would be welcome, but please, please simple language. It used to work fine.
We recently upgraded out TV Package if that has anything to do with it.
Also, my App does not look like the illustrations on the 'help' pages. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it with no joy.
Thanks

Re: BT TV App for Android not working.
If you've recently updated your TV package then you'll have moved to the Now TV channels, which aren't available to watch in the BT TV app. The only channels you can watch with BT TV are those listed when you select "Live" at the bottom of the screen - probably just AMC and BT Sport now.
You need to install the Now TV app from the Play Store, and log in using the email address you provided as part of the order journey. You'll have also received an email telling you to set up a password for your Now TV login.

Re: BT TV App for Android not working.
Thank you for getting back to me.
I have now downloaded the Now TV app and can see that I can get the channels I paid for there.
I was not aware that agreeing to the upgrade would stop me from watching the Free view Channels on my BT TV App.
I do not think BT made this clear and I am very unhappy about it. I thought that the point of the BT TV App was to allow me to watch TV in a place where I did not have a TV set but did have Internet and a tablet or phone.

Re: BT TV App for Android not working.
I am confused by your last statement. I am sure that I have watched Freeview channels on the app in situations where I have not had a TV set.
Also, I know I have many, many times set up recordings from the App on Freeview channels.
Are you sure that ordinary channels (Bbc1, 2, etc etc) have never been shown via the app ?

Re: BT TV App for Android not working.
Well, I have to believe you, but this does not square with my memory.
So all the BT TV App is good for is watching the BT Channels I have subscribed to and for setting recordings ?
Can I see the Now TV stuff via it ? Or is that only available through the Now TV App ?

Re: BT TV App for Android not working.
To watch any of the NowTV content, you'll need to watch it via the NowTV app.
As Darren says, there has never been the option to watch Freeview channels via the BT TV app.
You can watch some of them via the individual broadcasters own apps, such as iPlayer, All4, 5OD etc

Thanks for your responses, even though they were not what I wanted or expected to hear.
I've got the NOW TV App downloaded and it seems to be working OK.
