BT Virus protect: “Server error”

Hi everyone,

If you have attempted to download the new version of BT Virus Protect and have been presented with an error message please read on.

We’re really sorry you've encountered this problem – we’re aware of this issue which is affected some customers and are working hard to get this fixed as quickly as possible. Please check for updates on the BT Community Forum – here’s the link: Re: Important updates to your virus and password p... - BT Community

This is the error message you may see;

In the meantime, if you already have the McAfee version of the BT Virus Protect client on your PCs and Macs or on your Android phone installed, it will continue to work as normal, and you’ll remain protected.

Android app update

The new app went live in the Google Play store around 10 am this morning and will gradually get rolled out to customers overtime – over the next couple of weeks.  In the meantime, if you already have the McAfee version of the BT Virus Protect app installed, it will continue to work as normal.  At some point later your device will receive the automatic update from the Google Play store, which you will need to update on your device - just as you would update any app.

Once you’ve got the update you’ll have to log in with your BTID credential just once to activate. Please note, we are aware of an issue preventing some customers from logging in at present. We’re actively trying to put that right. We’ll be back to let you know when we’ve resolved it, please keep an eye out on the BT Community Forum – here’s the link: Re: Important updates to your virus and password p... - BT Community

Cheers

Sean
