I’ve recently moved and I’m unsure how to connect my wifi hub to my socket? I have a single master socket and I’ve bought adapters for my supplied cables, but nothing seems to work… I’m not too sure if I just need a different cable or anything?
I’ve added photos of my adapter and cable
Which BT Home hub do you have?
A BT smart hub
Are you sure your broadband is supposed to be working?
The filter just plugs in the phone socket and the hub DSL socket connects to the squarer socket on the filter.
Is there dial tone on the phone socket?
I got an email saying my internet is now on (as of this morning), but the issue is that none of my cables that fit into the hub, fit into the socket or the micro filters I’ve tried - so I wasn’t sure if I need to buy a different kind of cable
The DSL cable supplied with the hub should fit, it should be an RJ11 - RJ11 cable. Are you sure you aren't trying to use an Ethernet cable which has a slightly larger plug and won't fit.
You should connect things up as shown below. The thin RJ11 lead connects up from the home hub, to the microfilter which is plugged into your phone socket, no other leads are needed.
An RJ11 is smaller than an RJ45.

Pictures are different scale
I’m pretty sure it must be the cable, so I’m gonna try a different one! thank you 😀
An RJ11 plug is approx 9mmx6mm an RJ45 on an Ethernet cable is approx 11mmx6mm.
