Brand new FTTP 900 down ranges 17 to 130 Mbps

Go to solution

All

Just had FTTP 900Mbps installed, just 24 hours ago.

Am told there is no stabilisation period with fibre.

Have already contacted BT FTTP support team; agreed to reset the new SH2 as was operating also on Halo 1 for a week to see of this addresses speed nowhere near headline speeds.

Exchange to Hub:  930.5 Down/ 112.0 Up

SM2 and 4x Wifi Discs: spans 17 (!) Down to 130 Down

As is just installed I will look to cancel and revert to Halo 1 if this continues as right now overall 57Mpbs was a faster service.

Notes:

Home  (not business)
SH2 firmware: v0.26.04.04227

Discs firmware: 0.23.00.08070
All devices are wireless

Any thoughts or ideas welcome.

Thanks

Halo 1 is an addon, not an internet contract.

Wired or wireless?

Yes, Halo 1 was my previous service, now on Fibre. Point is my speeds were better pre-FTTP on copper cable.

All devices are accessed via wireless

Thanks

There's your problem. No ISP guarantees wireless speed, there are too many possibilities for interference.

I have reset the router; speeds up significantly.
