Broadband Speed Collapses

Despite BTs speedchecker consistently showing downloads speeds of 30Mbps, the speed at all my devices phones/ipad/tv varies in a moment between 20Mbps and 0.5Mbps.

As far as I can see nothing will have changed, I will just be browsing the internet or streaming a show when everything grinds to a halt, this happens throughout the day, everyday!

Usually if I turn my Hub off and on again the situation is resolved but I am doing this way to often.

At times the speed seems so slow that my devices say "connected without internet" despite the blue light coming from the Hub itself.

Does anyone have any ideas as this is so frustrating when I'm paying for high speed broadband!

Re: Broadband Speed Collapses

please can you post the stats from your router (if hub enter 192.168.1.254 in your browser) and if  HH5 then go to troubleshooting then helpdesk and if HH6/SH2 then advanced settings then technical log information .

Have you tried the quiet line test? - dial 17070 option 2 - should hear nothing - best done with a corded phone. if cordless phone you may hear a 'dull hum' which is normal

enter your phone number and post results  remember to delete number   https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL

Have you tried using Ethernet conenction to see if download better

Someone may then be able to offer help/assistance/suggestions to your problem

Re: Broadband Speed Collapses

Hi, thanks for the reply. Can I just check what stats you mean from the hub page?  As in the stuff on the status page? Sorry for being a touch clueless.

The quiet line test appears, well quiet, so I guess that is good.

I've attached a photo of the broadbandchecker results!

I haven't tried an ethernet connection because it's too far from the tv and also at times wireless is really fast, until its not.
