I have had an email from
Mail Server <stmarytreasurer at btconnect.com>
Says that I need to accept new privacy policy or lose my email !!!
Must be a scam, surely ?

It's a scam. BT do not use BT Connect email addresses for sending out emails to their customers.
Can you please prefix the @ btconnect with a row of xx's as it may be a genuine email address that is being spoofed by the scammers.

Defininitely a scam. The sender of mine was different again, but still with a btconnnect.com suffix
Hard-deleted it straightaway.
