So the Smart Hub 2 (SH2) has a number of well documented issues with devices failing to connect to its Wi-Fi. Very annoying!
I'm fortunate enough that I have a Netgear R7000, which I have been previously using as an access point (AP). Given the connectivity troubles I've had with the SH2, I decided to put the R7000 in to router mode, and that has worked a treat.
I'm now using the SH2 as an AP by disabling its on board DHCP server and assigning it a static IP, which has worked. However, it is annoying because it constantly clicks as it switches through different broadband modes trying to establish a WAN connection. From what I understand, this is a known function of the SH2, and can't be disabled.
I think short of setting up a WAN emulator, I don't think there's much I can do here.
Given that BT own my SH3, I was wondering if they could swap it with any other AP. Is this something they'd do?
Thanks.

In a nutshell, no.
There is no sh3 by the way, I assume you mean SH2.
Thanks. Looks like I'm getting the RPi out of the draw!
And yes, I meant SH2. Post edited for clarity.
