For last few years I had a single line coming into the house with download of 18-25 Mb (about 700m from green box), this was causing problems with 5 people studying / working from home (lots of large file transfers with my work, others video conferencing lots)- it also has BT TV on it (doesn't cope with BT sports ultimate). It also has Halo 2 (which is pretty poor coverage in some areas).
So I ordered an extra line - Openreach installed new line a couple of weeks ago back to box - it delivers 40-50Mb download speeds (wooo). It is the same BT broadband fibre 1 contract.
Can I just swap my TV box onto the new line?
Or should I be able to get original line upgraded to same speed?
One thing I didn't think of was that with the 2 routers that IP based equipment (printers / cameras / NAS) don't appear to be accessed from both sides ..... or can someone point me at a method of doing so.
Many thanks
No, you cannot just swap your TV box to the other line. You would have to activate and pay for the TV service which would still leave you liable to pay out the existing TV contract on the other line.
