Can I turn down the answer phone volume on my BT Essential phones?

Hi, we have these phones: https://shop.bt.com/products/bt-essential-phone---two-handsets-090658-D93L.html

Despite setting them up to block calls we still get many nuisance calls and quite frequently they wake up our baby. I’ve turned the handset volume to zero but the answer phone is very loud.

I know we can disable the functionality but then anyone trying to get hold of us on that line wouldn’t be able to  - ideally I’d like it to just silently collect messages, is this possible please?
