Changing Smart Hub 3 into router mode.

Go to solution

Hi,

I’m really sorry if this question has been posted numerous times but I can’t find a thread indicating that so thought I’d just ask the question.

I've just signed up with BT FTTP at my business but have installed a draytek router in place of the supplied smart hub 2. I was wondering if there was a way of integrating the hub into my virgin media home network as just a wireless router? The power line currently in place is so old and about to die so if there’s a way of saving me money that would be great. Thanks in advance.

You can convert the smart hub to a wireless access point (not router) by giving it an address outside of the DHCP range of your primary router, disabling DHCP and connecting the 2 devices LAN port to LAN port.
