Hi there,
So I have BT Halo, with a BT Smart Hub 2 and I recently bought the ASUS DSL-AX82U.
The Smart Hub works when connected, however, when I connected the VDSL cable to the router, the status for the connection says "Initialising" and then "Link Down". I did some digging, found out I had to set the connection type to PPPoE, and type in the username and password (which I did) and still the same error has happened. Am I making some sort of rookie mistake, is there an obvious thing I am meant to do? If anyone can assist me with this and have any suggestions, I would be really grateful
EDIT: I have just attached photos of the current router settings. The cable itself, the vdsl, is plugged into the DSL port in the router

Re: Connecting a new router
Hi there,
Thank you so much for your reply.
Yes I believe I am. I have tried bthomehub@btbroadband.com with both BT and bt as the password. Also, whilst the picture says that the 802.1q is turned on, it didn't work with it turned off either.
As I am posting, I am going to try different permutations of the username and password, but I did try that, yes.

Re: Connecting a new router
I assume you have normal VDSL broadband and not G.Fast or standard ADSL
