Coverage Question

Hi,

I'm looking  to get SIM only BT mobile for my Sony XZ3 and am a bit concerned with the coverage in my area.

According to the BT website there is in my area, full signal strength for 4G indoors and outdoors yet my device is not able to receive 4G...

The phone is not particularly very old and is capable of receiving 4G so does anyone know why the conflicting advice from BT?

Thanks

Re: Coverage Question

Your phone may not be particularly old but what about your SIM card, is that 4G capable ?

Re: Coverage Question

I wondered whether it was to do with the SIM but then thought that if I'm getting a new one as a SIM only deal then you would have thought it'd come 4G capable...  Isn't 4G the norm these days???

Re: Coverage Question

Check your settings on the phone to make sure 4G is enabled

Re: Coverage Question

I can confirm that your phone is 4G compatible (see Sony Xperia XZ3 - Full phone specifications (gsmarena.com) and expand the Network section), therefore I would expect that you will be able get 4g service with a new SIM card.

Re: Coverage Question

4G is currently enabled on my phone but it is surprising that the BT website is showing conflicting information.

When I get around to it, I'll check with BT to ensure any SIM card on the new contract will be 4G enabled prior to placing the order.
