How regular is DSL Link Down is deemed acceptable?
Up until a few days ago by broadband was pretty stable, DSL would go down briefly once every 10 days or so and normally in the early hours of the morning. But for the past 3 days is has been going down, and back up straight away, 3 times a day but during the day and evening. So question is is this too often and does it warrant investigation or would BT class this as acceptable?
I had an issue 2 years ago when it would drop hourly and this went on for weeks, this was finally resolved once a moderator stepped in and helped. I'm nowhere near that level of drops yet but it is still a pain when working from home and losing connectivity during meetings.
in order for the forum members to help please can you post the stats from your router (if hub enter 192.168.1.254 in your browser) and if HH5 then go to troubleshooting then helpdesk and if HH6/SH2 then advanced settings then technical log information .
Have you tried the quiet line test? - dial 17070 option 2 - should hear nothing - best done with a corded phone using test socket. if cordless phone you may hear a 'dull hum' which is normal. Have you tried moving to test socket with a filter to see if that stabilises your line
