Digital Voice - did anyone actually get a new free digital phone ?

Been recently migrated to digital voice and all seems to have gone well.  My only issue is that some of the emails/letters I received about this from BT said I could claim either a free digital phone or an adapter, however, when I follow the links provided then put in my land line number it says my number does not qualify for the offer.

Has anyone else had this issue and has anyone actually received a new digital phone from BT?

cheers

Bernie

We upgraded to Full Fine 900 and digital voice and got a choice of two free essential phones or one advanced phone.

Re: Digital Voice - did anyone actually get a new free digital phone ?

I upgraded to this a few months ago and had to make a formal complaint to BT to receive the free 'phone I was entitled to.  I was assured this would be provided as part of the migration package when I signed up to it. It was not. However  BT did sent it 2 days after I made the complaint as I could not use my old phone with the new hub.

What is your "old phone"?  Most corded phones will work when plugged into the phone socket on the Smart Hub.  Even my old Gigaset DECT system phones work with limited capability/compatibility.

Re: Digital Voice - did anyone actually get a new free digital phone ?

The problem with my upgrade was compounded by BT not migrating the service properly. My old phone ,which was a BT3960, would not work at all when plugged into the green socket on the SH. There was a loud howling noise whenever I tried to make calls and it could not receive any. With the new 'phone ,once I connected it, I could make calls but not receive them. Three months (and several more complaints later) BT traced this down to the migration not being configured properly by one of their highly trained team of experts . This has now been rectified. On the bright side as compensation I have not had to pay any bills for a few months.

The initial switch was okay for me, albeit with a few delays and all worked well for a while until the DV service was terminated by BT without any notice (a long, long story). Eventually sorted by one DV expert to whom I'm eternally grateful. Line reinstated, old number restored, goodwill payments made and all has been good since. I ended up with one DV advanced phone, two DV essential phones and a new DV advanced one with Alexa too. All free.
