I've just had the notice that BT are introducing Digital Voice. My main phone is in a different location to my fibre Broadband & Hub so I don't want to plug a new DV phone into my SmartHub 2 as it's out of the way. How do I know if my Panasonic Digital Cordless Answering System KX-TGD323E is a compatible DECT phone please? I bought it in 2015.
The main base unit with answering machine plugs into a phone extension socket & needs an electrical power point and the base units for my other 2 phones just plug into electrical sockets.
I'm hoping that I will just need a single adaptor (and yet another electrical socket to plug it into).
Thanks

you can just get the adapter and plug into a power socket near where existing base unit located. then pair to hub and plug in existing base and should be good to go as before
I found that very interesting. I am about to be upgraded to full fibre and digital voice phone.
1. I have Panasonic DECT phones (KX-TG6823E) currently, and I will be able to conveniently plug one into the HomeHub 2. I have three cordless extensions throughout my property, but will I require an adapter for each? Currently they all only require to be plugged in to power. I understand that BT DV handsets would not require adapters.
2. When the engineer popped in this week to assess the work to be done to connect full fibre, he didn't think that my existing phones would work at all on DV, but I doubt that is true. He said that I should have been sent one or two BT handsets as part of the equipment upgrade which turned out to be only Homehub 2. There is no mention of handsets in the blurb of my new recontract.
All that happens is your base station will now plug into the hub rather than the phone socket, nothing else changes.
You should have been given the choice of 1 advanced or 2 basic DV handsets. Call customer services and request them.
Thank you very much for that. I will contact BT about the new phones, but I'm not sure if they issue them with the equipment any more. Worth a go!
