Hi
I am on Fibre 1 and my normal download speed was between 42-50mb. It was always very consistent at that speed.
On 23rd August, i had a major connection drop. Router kept recycling and connection varied between not working at all and then getting speed of 4-7mb.
I contacted the online chat and after the usual basic checks, the operator refreshed my connection. My speeds returned to normal (42-50mb) for the next 24hrs but then dropped again to around 20-24mb.
Since this, ive had 2 engineer appointments, both of which returned my speeds to normal but again after 24-48 hours slowed right down to around 20-24mb which is a drop of at least 20mb from what i used to get.
Is there any explanation for this or would my profile be banded due to the frequent connection resets?
Any help appreciated
Thank you
welcome to the BT community forum where customers help customers and only BT employees are the forum mods
in order for the forum members to help please can you post the stats from your router (if hub enter 192.168.1.254 in your browser) and if HH5 then go to troubleshooting then helpdesk and if HH6/SH2 then advanced settings then technical log information .
Have you tried the quiet line test? - dial 17070 option 2 - should hear nothing - best done with a corded phone. if cordless phone you may hear a 'dull hum' which is normal
Have you tried using the test socket with a filter - even if you currently have a filtered master socket - and see if that helps stability
enter your phone number and post results remember to delete number https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL

Unfortunately i cant check phone quiet test as i dont have a phone or use the landline at all. The engineer never found no issues when he was here however, if that helps.
