Emails to btintnet.com users marked as Spam

Go to solution

We are having a problem with emails being delivered to btinternet.com addresses and marked as spam. In particular when a link https://realbridge.online/try-realbridge.html or similar is included in the email. This is a perfectly genuine site and used by clubs to play "Online Bridge". Is there anything that can be done to remove this site or Spam check to allow these emails through.

e.g.

1. Make sure you are compliant with SPF, DMARC and DKIM policies.

2. Get the recipients to add your address to their safe senders list.

Thanks

I believe we are SPF etc compliant.
The users have been asked to add the email to their trusted names.

Emails to the same account without the apparent offending link work fine and are received.

Are they getting marked as spam by BT webmail or are the people using and email client/app that is marking it as spam.

Those that are affected, as well as adding the email address to their safe senders list can also mark them as "Not Spam". by right clicking on the email when it is in the spam folder and going to "More" and selecting the relevant drop down from the list.

I thought I would double check again sending 3 emails, one with html link, one with plain link and one without the link.

The one with an html link was bounced by BT
The one with a plain text link wasn't bounced but didn't arrive, after checking all folders it could have gone to
The one without the link arrived fine.

Still no success.

Any emails with a link to our Online Bridge domain is treated as spam

These are supposed to be invitations to play bridge just like a zoom invitation

online . playbridge . com / ab.html?p=211126121636&q=htzQ3ZezzpOQ

Spaces added to avoid being treated as spam

Have a look at this link then I would suggest contacting the BT Postmaster.

We're having similar issues with BTInternet addresses and related domains.

I've been in touch with the BT Postmaster and even had a reply, however the problem persists and BT erratically soft-bounces some emails one day only to let them through the next day.

  • we send from a dedicated IP
  • SPF, DKIM etc all in place and properly configured
  • we have a 99.9% deliverability rate with other email providers, BT is ~93% overall due to this issue
  • we are not blacklisted and have a clean IP with excellent sender reputation
  • we send individual emails to BTInternet customers who want to receive them
  • emails contain payment receipts, invoices, general content
  • the only attachments we send are PDF invoices and they are as likely (or indeed unlikely) to get delivered as other messages

I now keep sending sample emails to investigation06@btinternet.com which I was advised to do. So far to little avail, we cannot see any change.

This issue has been ongoing for years for us.
