FTTP Installation

Hi,

Can anyone tell how exactly FTTP is installed?

Will there be any digging involved to install the new line to my house?

Thanks

Re: FTTP Installation

Possibly, possibly not.

How is your copper line fed to your house, from a pole or underground?

@gg30340 thanks, but that doesn't actually tell you how the new line will be installed

Re: FTTP Installation

Perhaps if you answered my question we might be able to give a more informative answer although it will depend very much on your individual circumstances.

That is because it can not be specific until it is know how your property is presently served as per message No.2

EDIT: Post crossed with above post.

Re: FTTP Installation

If ( for arguments sake ) your property was built in the 60’s or 70’s and has the typical underground method of provision from that period , then the existing copper cable is ‘direct in the ground’ and not inside a duct , with no evidence of where the cable enters the property on an external wall, if FTTP is provided in these circumstances, then excavation is more than likely required, to install the new fibre cable to the property , the only alternative in a situation like that would be to install telegraph poles and go from an underground copper pair service to overhead fibre one.
