FTTP cable entry into house

Hello, first post so go easy 😀.  Had Fibre 2 installed today. Seems really good, just a query about the finish on the cable entry in to the house. Is this not supposed to be covered over fully? Other houses near us seem to have this done with a grey full enclosure rather than the hole filled with silicone

My neighbours' are the same as your photo.  What thickness is the cable inside your house?

I meant in mm.  How big a hole is required? 🙂

I reckon its 6mm cable coming through from the outside. Not sure what diameter the actual core is once stripped

That is very poor work, no way I would be happy with that mess.

I agree. Will try and contact open reach and see what they say. Without having seen in advance what it should look like its difficult to argue that its not right
