Hello,
I have had full fibre 900 for a while now but I have had this problem before I upgraded and it seems to be continuing. At least once a day every day my download speed will crash to under 90Mbps, with the WAN link speed going to 100Mbps. If I power off the router for 5 minutes and bring it back on it corrects itself to 1000Mbps and I get the speeds I would expect again.
Although it will only be a matter of time before it sets the WAN link to 100Mbps. Any solution to keeping the WAN link at 1000Mbps? Or is this a symptom of a different issue?
Sounds like a hub problem, get it replaced. The WAN speed should always remain at 1000Gb no matter which level you are on as it is the link speed between the ONT and hub.
Think you might be right! Will contact BT. Cheers!
Have you tried a different ethernet cable between the ONT and the SH2? Also, instead of rebooting the smart hub, does disconnecting and re-connecting the ethernet cable restore the 1000mbit link?
Hi @A_Dandy_S and welcome to the community.
Sorry you're having a few problems. @pippincp may well be correct here but it's certainly worth trying @bkehoe advice first. Let us know how you get on.
Cheers
