I am wondering can I pay for ftth to be installed myself so I can get better Internet without waiting years till it gets put in my area.

Yes , you can pay for FTTPoD if you have at least £30,000 to spare and are willing to pay for a leased line. Just open a business account, pay £250 for the survey (refundable on purchase) and away you go.
