Hi, looking for some advice....
our old copper connection comes into front of house, to a purpose built cupboard, where old router is plugged in with 4 lan cables going into it from devices.
the new fibre connection can only go into the other end of house. (long story)
once new fibre router working can I tell old router to connect to it over wifi, to act as a bridge for the 4 lan cables?
or should I somehow try to get a CAT 7 cable from old router to new fibre one
thank you in advance

From your post I assume the new fibre connection is FTTP and the ONT needs to be fitter a back of house
are you a bt broadband Customer and getting upgraded?
Hi There
yes new FTTP and ONT needs to be fitted to rear of house and I am a bt broadband customer upgrading to fibre.
(Trench is dug, conduit is in place and new BT pole for the line installed) waiting for exterior works to be done end of Jan now, then interior 2 weeks after that.
Do yòu know if you are changing to digital voice with the FTTP install? If so you need to use the SH2
im not sure about that
the new router, they posted has a phone socket on it, so maybe.
my order says 'regrade of broadband and phone'
thanks
and yes just to confirm the new hub BT posted me, ready for installation is a smart hub 2.
Just because you are getting SH2 does not mean you are getting digital voice. You should have been told that you are being moved to digital voice and offered a new phone to work with digital voice
A run of cat7 would be the ideal solution.
that's great thanks for your time!
