Yes, of course you can. I was only using the public IP address as it was easier.

Provided that host points to your public IP address, it will work.

Okay, so let's just clarify a few things before I spend any money.

If I purchase the software then I can stream the camera to 30-40 people at the same time? But I will have to leave the computer running 24/7.

I want to be able to embed the video onto a webpage. But also allow people to link to the image on their mobile phone.

I cannot resolve that host, but I may have it wrong, as the forum likes to blot it out.

You can set the stream limit, but you would have to leave the computer running, as that becomes the server. Mine is on all of the time as it does lots of tasks.

You can view it on a phone as well.

Its offline at the moment, as your hostname does not resolve.

Yes, that address is correct. All I've done is create a DDNS in no-IP. Obviously, I would have to use third party software to link this address to my PC and camera.

When I installed the software for my software defined radio I entered in my Dynamic DNS in the software that I used to set up the radio receiver. I'm assuming that you would do the same with the camera using Iris

In your case, you would use the local LAN address in BI, not the host.

For some reason I cannot resolve the host in BI, but I have not tries it before, so it may just be a DNS issue, its not important anyway, as you will not need to use it.

Its an issue with OpenDNS that I use, so not to worry, it works with your public IP address, and it will not be a problem for you anyway.

Its back online again now, so by all means try it on a mobile.

At least we know that it is working now, which is brilliant. I suppose I've got to decide whether to purchase the software or just pay cam secure £2.99 a month to host it for me. Mind you, they are not very good at getting back to you when you send them emails.
