Re: IP camera

Okay, I'm going to send this link to cam secure so they can see that it is all working . There's no need for them to get back to me and tell me that they haven't got the correct settings.

Re: IP camera

I have removed my text overlay, as I am now using direct to disc recording which avoids re-encoding an using up CPU.

Audio can be very noisy when box is occupied.

By all means pass on the link to them. They should be able to access your own stream via your hostname, as I can.

I can restrict the frame rate, and also change the upload priority on my server, as I am using a TP Link router.

If this needs a lot more discussion, I will send you a private message which has one of my email addresses that I use exclusively for communicating with forum members.

Re: IP camera

Thanks Keith. All I need is for them to be able to see that it is working. I'm not going to be looking at it, so it should be quite simple.

I will see if they login into my stream, as Blue Iris keeps a log of IP addresses.

I could only see your IP logged in. Now logged off.

Re: IP camera

Brilliant, thank you.

I've been trying to get this CCTV to work. I know that you haven't got NVR box. However, have you any idea how I could reassign the original IP address to the box? I changed it stupidly and I think that's what's causing all the problems.

Re: IP camera

You may find it easier if you create a new and shorter host name, just for them to use, as they would be the only one needing it.

Not really, I would have thought it would use DHCP, and get the details from the home hub, which is why its odd that its getting the wrong subnet.

Can you let it use automatic (DHCP)?

I am wondering if it would be better to continue the discussion via email? You are not allowed to post email addresses here, but I can send mine to you via private messaging. I have done this with a couple of other members, to save posting on this forum.
