IPC6023 Error - Digital Phone Migration

We have had BT TV for a number of years using  BT 500 Home Hotspots to connect  our two You View boxes to broadband as the hub is too far away. Two days ago our home phone line was migrated to digital by BT meaning that our landline phones now plug in to the router. Suddenly this morning we started getting the IPC6023 error message whilst watching digital channels.  If we plug the ethernet cable directly in to the router the internet channels are restored.  BT have said that the migration has not caused the problem but we think it has. Has anyone else had the same problem & can anyone explain why this has happened & if there is a solution rather than having ethernet cables trailing around the house? Surely a warning should have been given by BT before transferring our service.

Its not likely that the migration to DV would have affected your BT TV service. Its possible that the hotspot 500  units are losing connection, as BT TV works with an Ethernet cable.

Have you tried restarting the hotspot 500 units to allow them to re-sync again?

They can be upset by changes in mains conditions, like something plugged into a different mains socket. Did you move your phone base unit to a different mains socket?

BT only guarantee the BT Mini Connectors to work with BT TV. These are available at a heavily discounted price, for BT TV customers.

Hi, Keith. The You View boxes are plugged in to the Home hotspots (which are the Mini 500s) by ethernet cables. We have spent most of today disconnecting, syncing & factory resetting everything & all to no avail. We have one long ethernet cable that will reach the hub & the digital channels work perfectly. We have never had a problem until the digital migration took place.

Best advice is to keep the ethernet cable in place and make the effort to run it tidily to the Youview box (under the edge of the carpet round the rooms for example which is what I do).


If you have other TV boxes that use an internet connection then add an ethernet switch by the TV and run short patch cables from that to each box.
