Install over a month for me - 1 week for my neighbour.

As the title suggests. I was the community lead for a CFP. As soon as I heard it was live, I phoned BT to put my order forward. I havnt had Internet for over a year in my property.  They give me the 3rd of August for install. Fair enough.

Tell my neighbour the next day who has worked closely with me before I tell the others this morning. He orders from BT, they give him the 6th of July as an install date. How can my install take a month longer??

They might have had a cancellation come through before your neighbour called in or something. I'd expect it to maybe take a month or so just now as there'll be a backlog of installs from the covid situation

Funny, initially I had asked them to tell me about any cancelations because of my circumstances and because of how keen I was. No call then and still nothing. Phoned again today just to reaffirm how desperate I am to have some form of Internet.

Doubt they'd be able to check for any cancellations & call you back as the dates come up when ordering. Checking would involve someone having to ,annually enter your account which I don't think would happen

Well, they had said they would do it and said the same again today. Can only sit in hope that my perseverance will be rewarded. Thanks.

Re: Install over a month for me - 1 week for my neighbour.

People who work in Sales will say anything to get a Sale.

You want to hear some of the things I would apparently do when I’m there.

One of the best to date was that I would dig a trench 50m across someone’s garden to lay a Cat5e Data Extension to someone’s man shed to connect up his Smart TV. Oh and apparently I would also help him set up the TV, which was still in its box and hang it on the wall for him. 😆

My install as just been pushed back 2 weeks despite having already received my hub and had openreach do all the hard work by pulling the fibre through.Very poor service!
