Hello
I have been with BT for around 4 years and until recently have not had any issues. Over the last month or so I have been getting lag spikes whilst playing games in the evening, and am seeing a noticeable drop in speed.
I am on BT Fibre 2 and was previously getting ~70mbps consistently. I still get this speed at non peak times, but in the evenings this is dropping to ~35mbps. I have just run a test on https://www.speedtest.btwholesale.com/details and as of 5pm on Saturday I'm getting 35.6mbps. This is getting rather frustrating!
I've seem similar threads as this and it seemed to link to issues with exchange capacity? Is there anything that can be done here to get the expected speeds more consistently?
in order for the forum members to help please can you post the stats from your router (if hub enter 192.168.1.254 in your browser) and if HH5 then go to troubleshooting then helpdesk and if HH6/SH2 then advanced settings then technical log information .
Have you tried the quiet line test? - dial 17070 option 2 - should hear nothing - best done with a corded phone. if cordless phone you may hear a 'dull hum' which is normal
enter your phone number and post results remember to delete number But leave the exchange and cab number. https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL
