Recently joined BT from VM, partly to be able to remove unsightly mess of black cables adorning the front walls. Currently on fttc and everything is working fine despite the dropwire being at least 50 years old. However the local line is currently being upgraded and I'm now wondering whether I will have to have yet another mess of cables or whether I will be able to stay as I am on fttc.

What exactly do you mean by 'the local line is currently being upgraded' ?

That's what the OpenReach guy said when connecting me. I assumed he meant so everyone could have fttp but maybe not? Certainly been a fair bit of OR activity along this stretch.
Could mean anything. If you get FTTP, it will just be an optical drop wire instead of a copper one. A CSP will also be fitted externally.
OK, thanks for that.
Christ, was the installer drunk when he installed that?
Dunno, it's a stock image from Googling CSP.
