Moving FTTP entry point to property

We have FTTP which enters to the right of our front door. We are looking to put a porch on the front of the house which will mean that the porch footings will inturupt the current buried fibre. So during the porch build will need the fibre moved, fitted to the outside of the porch and linked up with current fibre in property.

My two questions are:

1. Can fibre be cut and extended like this.

2. Anyone know what the approximate cost of this might be? As not sure if it will make a porch too costly for us.

Appreciate anyone's input, we have to get planning permission and before starting down that route wanted to make sure the fibre move won't add too much cost.

You need to contact Openreach for any move of the fibre infrastructure.

Re: Moving FTTP entry point to property

Cutting & joining fibre is nothing like cutting & joining copper, try it without the correct splicing equipment & skills and you will probably destroy it
