I took a call from an elderly gent who had missed a call from my landline number. I had not called his number so I got him to read back the number and time of the missed call. It checked out as my landline number, the call was made at a time when I was not at home, no-one else has access to my phone, and there is no record of the call on my calls list. Is someone able to use my BT landline number to disguise their own for scam purposes?
The whole world can spoof your number, I'm afraid.
Ok thanks. I know you are right - makes us all feel that we are manipulated by the unscrupulous, without recourse.
